Breaking new ground

Our intrepid and explorative nature has seen us open new frontiers for architectural practices. Our ability to adapt to unfamiliar situations and  respond ably to new challenges is what has kept us ahead of the pack.

  • GDS designed the very first slum rehabilitation project at Ram Laxman Tekdi in 1992 under the guidelines of section 33/10 of the Development Control Regulations for Greater Mumbai.

  • As a part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority's (MMRDA) World Bank aided Mumbai Urban Transport Project - II (MUTP-II) for widening of the Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road and the Anik Panjrapole Link Road, GDS formulated the first Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and Community Environment Management Plan (CEMP) for the rehabilitation and resettlement of Project Affected People, which was rated no. 1 and executed.

  • As consultants to the Privatization Initiative Cell of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), GDS has helped conceive several redevelopment schemes for obsolete civic amenities through Public Private Partnership, helping the MCGM to redevelop their land assets in an effective, business like manner, much different from their traditional, typically conventional systems.
